The Setting
In the Integration Pre-Apprenticeship (INVOL) in St. Gallen, an exciting experiment was conducted: One class used Get More Brain (GMB), while another was taught traditionally. Both classes were supervised by highly qualified professionals, including a federally certified head chef with a Master’s degree in vocational education.
INVOL’s mission is clear: optimally prepare people with migration backgrounds for vocational training and provide them with the necessary expertise for the kitchen sector. In this test, INVOL wanted to find out if digital learning methods could be more effective in this special environment.
One class relied heavily on Get More Brain. The translation function and the ability for subject teachers to customize content were particularly beneficial. The learners actively used GMB outside regular class times, came prepared to lessons, and could work at their own pace.
The results speak for themselves!
The experiment brought amazing results:
✅ The GMB class was 3 course days ahead with the same course duration
✅ In the final exam, no one from the GMB class scored below a 5
✅ 90% of participants actively studied outside of class time
These features were particularly popular:
- Integrating individual content into personal notebooks
- Translation function for better understanding of learning content
- Self-directed learning and increased self-organization
- 24/7 availability anywhere (including in the kitchen)
- Collaboration via the integrated messenger
This success story impressively demonstrates how digital learning solutions like Get More Brain can create real added value even in challenging educational contexts with diverse language backgrounds.

Roksolana Ditsan, a participant from Ukraine, used Get More Brain as a digital learning tool during her training in the gastronomy sector under the guidance of course instructor Markus Breu. Let’s see how both of them experienced the work with Get More Brain.
Roksolana Ditsan about her learning experience
▶️ Roksolana, how was working with Get More Brain for you?
After the introduction phase, the operation was very simple overall; it’s a well-organized program. In My Library, I find the Pauli teaching and recipe books that I can copy to my workspace.
▶️ What was the most surprising advantage you discovered?
Translating the school material and recipes is very easy; the text passages could be relatively easily copied into my personal workspace and translated into my language.
▶️ How did Get More Brain help you with processing school material in your native language?
Translating the worksheets helps me to better and more easily understand the material when studying. I was able to learn technical terms better and, above all, understand them, which only gave me advantages in practice and at school.
▶️ How satisfied were you with the revised and newly structured digital Pauli teaching and recipe books?
The good visualization, the simple illustrated process steps with Get More Brain helped me a lot to better understand the text. With text and matching images, it’s easier to learn and understand in a new language “Ukrainian – German”.
▶️ Do you have suggestions for improvements in Get More Brain?
Oh yes, copying from the Academy with the individual points in the text field on the right can be very tedious. When we need to copy an entire school day, it takes a lot of time, especially on mobile.

Markus Breu about his teaching experience
▶️ What challenge or need prompted you to consider Get More Brain as a solution?
The integration of Pauli textbooks with Get More Brain for teaching a mixed-language integration class. The tool simplified translations into various languages.
▶️ What was the greatest improvement or impact after implementing Get More Brain?
The app simplified teaching, students were taught the material in German and could, when needed, process the content in their native language and better understand the material.
▶️ How has Get More Brain helped you activate, manage, or share knowledge more effectively?
With Get More Brain, students could work on, deepen their understanding of, and exchange solutions for the material anytime and anywhere using their smartphones.
▶️ How has Get More Brain improved training and knowledge sharing in your class?
Understanding and absorption of course material was simplified thanks to the translation tool. Students using Get More Brain were ultimately able to deepen and process their knowledge better. The results became evident in the final examination.
▶️ What feedback have you received from students about your teaching with Get More Brain?
Easy handling, clear structure, course material is accessible everywhere and can be well prepared while using public transportation.
▶️ What efficiency gains have you achieved in the introduction and training processes?
The prepared course material can be efficiently adapted by students to their desired structure and language. Better learning outcomes (“understanding and absorption”) are achieved in class. Greater progress is observed in the German language, as students can process the course material more effectively.
