The Messenger is an important tool in Get More Brain. In learning processes, it is beneficial for people to talk to each other. Coaches talk to learners. Learners talk to their peers or to experts. All of this happens in the Messenger.
The Messenger in Get More Brain is easy to use, just like any other chat tool, and particularly useful for sharing content. You can easily incorporate learning materials into your conversations, whether you’re sending articles, quizzes, photos or videos.
Share Learning Content
The Messenger in Get More Brain is made for learning: that’s why you can easily share any learning content from your → Library or from your notebooks in the → Workspace.
Send articles, images, videos or quizzes to your → contacts.
They can view and edit the content directly in the Messenger. Solve quizzes directly in the chat and send back the answers. This keeps the learning conversation flowing.
Share Learning Content with others:
- Go to a title in your library and navigate to a bit you want to share
- Click / tap on the dot menu and choose ‘Send…’.
- Choose a contact from your list
- Click / tab ‘OK’
The content bit will be added to the conversation with the chosen contact.
Start a chat
It’s super easy to start a conversation with one of your contacts.
- Start in your contact list and click / tap on a name.
- The messenger will open with the latest message of your conversation.
- Type a message in the text field at the bottom of the screen.
Hint: You can use the dictation feature of your smartphone instead of typing your message.
Enrich your Messages
In addition to text messages, you can also send various media and objects to your → contacts via the Get More Brain messenger.
Add videos, photos, audio or documents to your messages and use emojis if a picture says more than words.
Open a conversation and simply click / tap on the plus sign at the bottom right to insert the desired object into your message.
You can also copy/paste messages between conversations.
Enrich Messages with Links
When you enter a URL into a message, it’s worth waiting a second after pasting the link. Get More Brain will fetch a rich preview of the link and embed it in the message you send to your chat buddy.
Enrich Messages with Videos
Videos make learning so much easier and exciting. You can easily add videos to any conversation.
- Click / tap on the plus symbol in the text input field
- Choose ‘Video’
- Paste the URL of a video (Youtube, Vimeo, …)
- Use the tab key to see a preview of the video
- Click ‘Send’ to add the video to your conversation
The video can be played directly in the chat.
You can use local videos from your device instead of online videos.
- In the Browser, choose ‘Document’ instead of ‘Video’ in the upload-menu.
- On your smartphone or tablet, use ‘Photo Library’ instead of the video-upload.
💡 Sadly, it’s not yet possible to create a video directly with the camera of your smartphone.
Enrich Messages with Images
Visuals and images make it easy to understand a complex subject and are thus a great help in learning.
- Click / tap on the plus symbol in the text input field
- Choose ‘Photo Library
- Choose an image from your drive or photo library
- You see a preview of the image
- Click ‘Send’ to add the picture to your conversation
On a smartphone or tablet, you can add a picture directly from camera or from any folder instead of the photo library. You have to give Get More Brain the permission to use photos from your device.
Enrich Messages with Audio
If you can add videos and pictures to a conversation, of course you can’t miss audio files. Use your device to make voice recordings and save them as MP3. Then you can easily upload them to Get More Brain and add them to a conversation. Your conversation partner can play the audio directly in the chat.
- Click / tap on the plus symbol in the text input field
- Choose ‘Audio’
- Choose any existing audio-file from your device
- Send it to your chat-buddy
Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to make an audio recording directly from the chat. But we will surely add this possibility.
Enrich Messages with Documents
You can insert any document in your conversation. Get More Brain can handle all common types of documents. You can use PDFs, Office files or any document for which you have installed the appropriate app.
Be careful when sending large documents. It’s better to work with cloud storage and send only the corresponding link to the document in the chat.
Enrich Messages with Emojis
You can spice up your conversations with emojis. Choose one or more appropriate emojis to emphasize your messages.
- Click / tap on the plus symbol in the text input field
- Choose ‘Emoji’
- Insert one or multiple emojis
Paste and Send Messages
If you have → copied a message from another conversation, you can paste it here and send it to your current chat partner.
If you have copied multiple bits or messages via the → basket, you can paste them here and send it to your current chat partner.
Working with Messages
Like every Chat-Tool, our Messenger offers you a variety of features to deal with your messages.
Send Messages
Choose the recipient from your list of contacts. Type a message in the box and click / tap the send-button. Your contact will get a notification about the new message.
Reply to Messages
You can reply to a message and continue the conversation at any time. Be aware: it makes a difference whether you simply type a new message or use the ‘Reply’ command from the dot menu.
- If you reply in the text box at the bottom of the screen, the conversation continues at the top level.
- If you use the ‘Reply’ command, you reply specifically to the current message. This will open a new thread in the conversation, where you can discuss specifically the current topic.
Save Messages to a Notebook
Save any message to one of your notebooks. This feature is especially useful when you want to save videos, photos, audios, documents or quizzes. Once they’re in your notebook, you can always refer back to them.
Copy a Message
With Get More Brain, it’s easy to share good learning content with others. Just copy it from one conversation and → paste it to another.
Open the dot-menu and choose ‘copy’.
If the message contains a bit from one of your books, you can also copy the link to the original bit instead of the content itself.
Add Messages to the Basket
If you want to forward or save several messages at once, you can use the Basket. The Basket works like a clipboard and allows you to copy multiple objects in one go.
Delete Messages
Sometimes it just happens: you send the wrong message to the wrong person.
No worries: delete it as if it never happened.

In Get More Brain it’s easy to review any conversation and pick up your chat wherever you left.
