Award for the “Schaffhausen Model” educational project
The “Schaffhausen Model” sets new standards in training for professions in the hospitality industry and was awarded first place in the “Prix Vision” advancement award for educational innovation. The award ceremony took place in the traditional Zunftsaal zun Kaufleuten – a fitting setting for this significant recognition. State Councilor Strasser presented the award in person.
The award-winning project “Together, not alone” by Hotel Gastro formation Schaffhausen is aimed at the next generation of young professionals in the hospitality industry and will officially start in the 2025/26 school year. Its goal is to promote hospitality professions and make them more attractive to young people of Generation Z and Alpha.
At the heart of the model is a training program that is practical, solid, and future-oriented. It includes:
- A smart, fundamentally practice-oriented in-company training program with corresponding learning documentation, which is completely new in this form.
- Innovative course materials for inter-company courses, tailored to the needs of Gen Z/Alpha, translatable into over 130 languages.
- Best practices for promoting in-company learning and testing
- Mobile first—built for use with smartphones and all other mobile devices
“This award is both confirmation and motivation for us to continue thinking ahead in education and to prepare young people specifically for the working world of tomorrow,” said the project management team.
Another important aspect of the project is the spiraling costs of catering training, especially the costs of kitchen professions since the 2024 vocational reform. Here, too, new standards are being set.
The learning documentation is free for vocational trainers and costs learners CHF 99 for the entire apprenticeship period.
Vocational trainers, associations, and companies are invited to familiarize themselves with the Schaffhausen model in order to jointly provide impetus for strong, modern vocational training in the hospitality industry.

Förderpreis für Bildungsprojekt „Schaffhauser Modell“
Das „Schaffhauser Modell“ setzt neue Massstäbe in der Ausbildung gastgewerblicher Berufe und wurde dafür mit dem 1. Platz des Förderpreises für Bildungsinnovation «Prix Vision» ausgezeichnet. Die feierliche Verleihung fand im traditionsreichen Zunftsaal zun Kaufleuten statt – ein würdiger Rahmen für diese bedeutende Anerkennung. Regierungsrat Strasser überreichte die Auszeichnung persönlich.
Das prämierte Projekt „Gemeinsam statt einsam“ von Hotel Gastro formation Schaffhausen richtet sich an die nächste Generation von Berufseinsteigern im Gastgewerbe und startet offiziell im Schuljahr 2025/26. Es hat zum Ziel, die gastgewerblichen Berufe zu fördern und für junge Menschen der Generation Z und Alpha attraktiver zu gestalten.
Herzstück des Modells ist eine Ausbildung, die praxisnah, solid und zukunftsorientiert ist. Dazu gehören:
- ein smartes, fundamental praxisorientiertes betriebliches Ausbildungsprogramm mit einer entsprechenden Lerndokumentation, welche in dieser Form ein absolutes Novum darstellt.
- innovative Kursunterlagen für die überbetrieblichen Kurse, massgeschneidert für die Bedürfnisse der Gen Z / Alpha, in über 130 Sprachen übersetzbar
- Best Practices für die Förderung des betrieblichen Lernen und Prüfen
- Mobil First- gebaut für die Nutzung mit dem Smartphone und allen anderen mobilen -Geräten
„Diese Auszeichnung ist für uns Bestätigung und Ansporn zugleich, Bildung weiterzudenken und junge Menschen gezielt auf die Arbeitswelt von morgen vorzubereiten“, so die Projektleitung.
Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt des Projektes sind die ausufernden Kosten der Gastro-Ausbildungen, speziell die Kosten der Küchenberufe seit der Berufsrevision 2024. Auch hier werden neue Massstäbe gesetzt.
Die Lerndokumentation ist für Berufsbildner gratis und kostet Lernende für die gesamte Lehrzeit CHF 99.
Berufsbildner, Verbände und Betriebe sind eingeladen, sich mit dem Schaffhauser Modell vertraut zu machen, um gemeinsam Impulse für eine starke, zeitgemässe Berufsbildung im Gastgewerbe zu setzen.
